Secretariat is provided by Funeral Administration Ltd which is headed by Alun Tucker, a funeral professional with over 40 years' experience, and was set up in 2015, prior to Alun's retirement from day-to-day funeral directing in August 2016.
Alun Tucker
With a proven track record in business management at a senior level, Alun was, until recently, President of the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors for a second time.
He is keen to promote the next generation of funeral directors, having chaired the Independent Funeral Directors' College between 2005 and 2008 and through his current role as Company Secretary at the British Institute of Funeral Directors.
Alun was appointed Chief Executive of the Funeral Furnishing Manufacturers' Association (FFMA) in October 2018, where he is responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation, including managing its finances, administering the Coffin and Casket Certification scheme and keeping members up-to-date with the association's work, to name but a few areas of focus.
In May 2019, Alun was asked to take over as Secretary of the Council of British Funeral Services which completes his hat-trick in assisting funeral organisations!

MMy background has a firm grounding in a wide variety of Financial Services from my very early days working as a Debt Collector progressing through to merchant banking and most latterly as a financial adviser specialising in Pensions, Investment trust and Offshore investments bonds used for tax efficiency. It was during my time advising clients that I found myself in the unique position of working with families that had suffered a bereavement. They needed guidance and support and I very much enjoyed guiding them with appropriate financial advice.
Moving forward a number of years, I was looking for a different challenge and came across the
bereavement sector. In particular a role working the administration team for a local authority based
in the cemetery. I found the role so rewarding and the ability to look after families whilst using some
of my previous knowledge was so powerful. I remember thinking that I had found the best job in the
world and have never “worked” a day since then.
I have been involved in managing Cemeteries and Crematoria for over twelve years now and find
myself as a senior leader in the bereavement sector with the privilege of being the CEO of the
Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities and Chairman of the Council of British Funeral
Services.
